Across the fields from Althorp is the royal house of Holdenby, a house with a history which goes back over 400 years. Holdenby was built by Sir Christopher Hatton to entertain Elizabeth I, then became the Palace of James I but a prison of his son, Charles I.
Now a family home, this beautiful house also has a wonderful garden and Falconry Centre. You can have a chance to see birds of prey soar into the sky.
