A pocket park with history: The Cherry Orchard is from a time when Olney produced a commercial crop of cherries and that heritage is carried through to the annual Olney Cherry Fayre. It is a throwback to the sale of the harvest, a time of celebration for the workers in the town.
Still not far form The Glebe (the field in front of St.Peter and St.Paul church) where the fayre is held is this small park: an oasis of gardens and trees. The Cherry Orchard has shaded areas to sit awhile.
Either access it from Church Street (take a cut-through next to the Old Rectory), or from Pegasus Court or behind Stanley Court. The turning for Stanley Court is between Michael Graham Estate Agents.
